“Hope makes a good breakfast. Eat plenty of it.”― Ian Fleming, From Russia With Love
The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind, with so much to do and so little time. I am still convinced that someone in the sky is playing around with the buttons on the ‘remote’ to life…
But as the city begins to quieten down and evenings turn mellower, leaves rustle around in the parks and streets, and everything really does get just that little bit more sparkly…
Autumn has been WAY too beautiful this week! Snap happy. All of the leaves are so colourful. Me and Kristi were saying only yesterday… fall truly is a colour of its own!
Also, is it a thing to enjoy walking around graveyards from time to time? They’re so peaceful and pretty.
College reading week has finally come to an end too… just don’t ask me how much reading I’ve actually done; because photo shoots have been plentiful and procrastination has been high…
I had the best ending to this week with my lovely geography buddy – Jessie. After an amazing breakfast at Canteen London over the Southbank, we took the “long way” back to Uni. Apparently the secret to productive afternoons in the library is long breezy walks and runny yolks. #notetoself #Eggscellence.
Being lucky enough to study at such a central university just off of Oxford Street; I really shouldn’t be taken the city for granted – but it’s so hard not to get consumed by these looming piles of work! It’s too easy to forget just how beautiful London can be at this time of the year. There is so much out there to see and do.
So HEY: Highlight of the fortnight – Fireworks anyone? The Lord Mayors fireworks from Blackfriars Bridge last night were beautiful! The rain was torrential though…there were inch high streams of water flowing down the street. Once the fireworks were over, the road transformed into one huge, static sea of people who were all trying to squish their way back into the station. Everything got wet. Absolutely everything.
And as crazy as they have been, the past few weeks have still been fun! A while ago, a few of us foodies went post-double-lecture burger spotting at one of the Friday food markets behind Leicester square and then Calvin + I headed off to capture some chilled out street photography before it got dark. How amazing does this food look?!
I also really love this photograph that was taken on the backstreets of Soho, from the warmth of the shop exterior to the expression on the guys face; this is definitely one of my favourites so far! – They must have been tourists, right? 😉
There is also something so ridiculously cosy about coffee shops + windows + people + lights. *melts* I can’t even.
I wish I could have a hot chocolate and marshmallows and an all day ticket to watch the world go by…
Pretty please can someone just send over some dark chocolate and tell the best friend to come back home for a day? (Okay, so in all fairness…she actually did. And then I went and wasted 2 hours of that precious time by making her wait for 2 hours for me in a train station) Love you forever, Em!
Finally, I am currently really enjoying the idea of regularly doing these ‘musing’ themed posts! I always seem to collect so many pictures over the course of a fortnight and never really do much with them, so I figured this would be a nice little outlet to pin them up on + to rant a little (a lot) about everything. A lot of blogs tend to favour them, so giving it go seems like a nice idea. But what do you guys think? Sorry for the photo bombardment – decision has never been my strong point 😉
Is anything special scheduled for you this week? What’s the prettiest place near to you at this time of the year?
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
Love Tash xo
